47. Learn to create and execute a theme of my own design for my blog.

I just finished and published my first attempt at my own blog template. Now that I know how to do it, I think I can do better, but I'm pretty excited about it and am off to work on my personal website.

Then, I just have to update the theme for this darn blog.

50. Make a point to collect my recyclables for one month.

I've now been recycling for 5 weeks without fail and I don't mind telling you that it feels GOOD! I feel like I'm saving the planet one juice bottle and jam jar at a time.

I have to admit that I was more than just a little bit afraid of this one because I've never been very good at this type of thing. I'll recycle if the bin bites me in the butt, but I'm not going out of my way to do so. Then, I met someone who is VERY careful about these things and I started feeling guilty and embarassed. But no more! I'm a recycler. Yippie!

The funny thing is it is pretty easy to do. I thought it would be a major pain, but it isn't and I can tell it is something that I will easily be able to continue (unlike some of the other things on this pesky list.)

So, thank you, Anna for putting me in my place. I hope I'm making you proud.

55. Learn about British history.

Because I moved from England when I was so young, I somehow missed some key lessons in British history (and American history, too, for that matter). I never enjoyed history classes, but do enjoy reading and watching shows and movies about historical events and people.

Anyway, I just finished reading a 500 page book on British history and I feel so much better informed. In addition, I learned that I was not as uneducated as I thought. I'm very surprised. I was lucky enough to have had parents who made a point to take us everywhere as kids, so it turns out I've seen a lot of relevant stuff.

I still want to read some more about the monarchy and some biographies, but on the whole, I think I've got this one licked enough.
